Tips: Bank Account Security

American Riviera Bank offers many convenient ways to keep tabs on your accounts, using online and mobile banking:

  • Log in to online or mobile banking to review your accounts/transactions at least weekly and report any unusual or unauthorized charges immediately.
  • Create unique, complex passwords and never share them. Click here for tips!
  • Set up Alerts in online or mobile banking. Choose from a variety of security alerts, or create your own account alerts, history alerts, online transaction alerts or reminders.

Electronic Statements

Sign up for electronic statements and stop receiving paper statements via postal mail.

  1. In the Transactions menu of online or mobile banking, select Statements.
  2. Select any account listed on the e-Statements page.
  3. Enter the email address you want the notifications to go to.
  4. Enter the code from the PDF.
  5. Select the statements you want to be electronic only.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Security Alerts

  1. In the Settings menu of online or mobile banking, select Alerts.
  2. Choose from the following security alerts:
  • Alert me when a computer/browser is successfully registered.
  • Alert me when my challenge code is changed.
  • Alert me when my password is changed.
  • Alert me when secure access code contact information is changed.
  • Alert my when my login ID is changed.
  • Alert my when forgot password is attempted for my login ID.
  • Alert me when an invalid challenge code is presented.
  • Alert me when an invalid password for my login ID is submitted.
  • Alert me when the “forgot password” process is attempted unsuccessfully.
  • Alert me when an invalid secure access code is submitted.
  • Alert me when my user login is disabled.
  • Alert me when my user login is locked out.
  • Alert me when a new user is created.
  • Alert me when my security alert preferences are changed.
  • Alert me when my user profile is updated.
  • Alert me when a valid challenge code is presented.
  • Alert me when the forgot password process is successfully completed.
  • Alert me when a valid secure access code is submitted.

Custom Alerts

  1. In the Settings menu of online or mobile banking, select Alerts.
  2. Select New Alert.
  3. Choose from the following:
  • Account Alert (create alerts for accrued interest, available balance, current balance, last deposit amount, last interest paid amount, previous year-to-date interest amount, or year-to-date interest amount).
  • History Alert (creates alerts by account transaction type and amount).
  • Online Transaction Alert (creates alerts by online activity transaction type and status).
  • Reminder (creates reminders for activities like birthdays, anniversaries, appointments, etc.)

4. Select notification method:

  • Email
  • Voice
  • SMS Text Message
  • Secure Message Only
