This April, our ARB team enthusiastically celebrated Teach Children to Save Day with local students! What began in 1997 as the American Bankers Association Foundation's vision has grown into an amazing nationwide movement that's touched millions of young lives across America. This year we were able to increase our involvement and visited more classrooms and offered over 500 students engaging lessons to develop good spending habits early on in life.
At American Riviera Bank (ARB), we believe that understanding money shouldn't wait until adulthood. Recognizing the limited opportunities for financial education within school curricula, ARB provided elementary and middle school students with a unique learning experience through the Teach Children to Save program.
With the support of 15 passionate ARB team members — including our executives Eusebio Cordova Jr. and Laurel Sykes — we delivered 21 interactive financial literacy presentations across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. From kindergartners learning about saving their first dollars to eighth graders discovering the costs that add up with everyday appliances, we reached over 500 kids in both public and private schools and after-school programs.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these students' educational journeys and are committed to continuing our efforts to promote financial literacy and community engagement. The enthusiasm and receptiveness of the students have further motivated us to expand our outreach and make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners.
By embracing the Teach Children to Save program, American Riviera Bank is investing in the financial literacy of our local youth. By equipping young people with essential financial knowledge, we're nurturing a generation ready to face economic challenges with confidence and wisdom. At American Riviera Bank, we take pride in bringing this valuable financial literacy program to students throughout our community.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team members who volunteered their time and talents: Eusebio Cordova Jr, Roxy Fierro, Tyler Flesner, Lisa French, Sandra Gallo, Matthew Limon, Laurra Mitchell, Holly Onak, Dustin Reese, Rechelle Ringer, Alyssa Shapiro, Megan Snyder, Laurel Sykes, Alex Torres, and Brandon Vallin.
And of course, we couldn't have done it without the incredible schools that welcomed us into their classrooms. Together, we're helping our local kids understand that every penny saved today is a step toward a brighter financial tomorrow!
