The trust must own California real estate to serve as collateral for the loan. Unlike many lenders, we can make loans to both revocable (family/living) and irrevocable trusts.
Irrevocable trust loans are sometimes referred to as bridge loans due to the short-term nature of these mortgages when a successor trustee or beneficiary who recently inherited real estate find themselves looking for short-term financing against trust-owned real estate. The irrevocable trust loan is essentially a home equity loan against the inherited real estate to allow for the distribution of assets among beneficiaries, to pay for the trust’s expenses, or to buy out other beneficiaries to the property.
